Kings Forest Development Approval Process and Applications
February 24, 2025
The Kings Forest development is touted as one of the largest development project in the Tweed for the next 25 years.
This development site has been declared a ‘State Significant Site’ by the NSW State government, located within Tweed Shire Council to the east of Cudgen and will eventually house a population of around 11,000 people with a Town Centre, Neighborhood Centres, Schools, Community Facilities, a Golf Course and Parkland.
As a State Significant Site, the development approval process for a Kings Forest new house building project varies from the current town planning and building approval processes.
PPLAN can assist with a Preliminary Assessment in determining the best approval pathway for your new Kings Forest house development – either undertaking the CDC (Complying Development Certificate) approval pathway or the DA (Development Application) approval pathway.

Where a DA is required, we can prepare and lodge your application to Council. We can also lodge Ancillary Applications for either the CDC or DA pathway.
