Kings Forest Development Application (DA) Process for Precinct 5
At this week’s Tweed Consultants Forum, discussions with Tweed Council and Stockland have confirmed that all dwellings in Kings Forest Precinct 5 will now require a Development Application (DA) pathway.
Because the site is classified as a State Significant Development (SSD) under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW), it is ineligible for approval via the Complying Development Certificate (CDC) pathway.
4-Step Process for DA Approval
1. Design & Site setout: Ensure the site design complies with the Kings Forest Development Code (Part B), the Plan of Development and Stockland’s simplified Design Guidelines.
2. Design Review Panel Pre-Approval Certificate: The owner or builder to lodge this certificate online.
3. Lodge Development Application: Prepare and submit the DA with Tweed Shire council through a private Town Planner.
4. Lodge Construction Certificate: Once the DA is approved, the Construction Certificate is to be lodged with a Private Certifier or Tweed Shire Council’s Building Department
